Имплементацијата на Проектот „Сакај ја Македонија, уживај во својата татковина“ започна на 08.05.2010 година на Плоштад Македонија во Скопје во делот познат како лизгалиште и се одржува секоја сабота во периодот од 12:00 - 17:00 часот. На овој настан ќе се претставуват регионите со сите свои специфики, активности, можности, потенцијали и сл.

Источниот плански регион своето претставување ќе го има во Сабота на 12.06.2010 година од 12:00 - 17:00 часот.

„Патеката на Железната завеса" (Iron Curtain Trail – ICT) поврзува низа национални и прекугранични заштитени области по текот на поранешната Железна завеса – притоа минувајќи низ многу земји, вклучително и 14 ЕУ членки. Истата поврзува споменици, музеи и други градби кои сведочат за историјата на поделена Европа, како и за мирната револуција во Централна и Источна Европа. Дел од „Патеката на Железната завеса“ поминува низ територијата на Македонија. Влегува низ граничниот премин кај Делчево и продолжува преку низински предел кон Пехчево и Берово. Рутата минува низ полиња и ливади и потоа продолжува во општина Струмица, за на крај преку Босилово да премине во општина Ново Село и излезе од Македонија на истоиментиот граничен премин.

GTZ RED implements capacity building measures at regional level for 2010 within the Programme activities on strengthening the capacities of regional centers, LED and other regional stakeholders. Within this activity GTZ organized a study tour in Slovenia and Croatia from 9th until 16th of May 2010. This activity is actually a continuation of a series of trainings that are organized by GTZ. The Study tour was attended by representatives from six centers in Macedonia and employees in several municipalities. Representatives from the Centre for Development of the East planning region participated were Dragica Zdraveva – Manager, Emil Vassilev - Coordinator for Regional Development and Katerina Koceva – Administrator.

Developing Alternative Tourism Potentials in Macedonia

The EuroVelo Cycle Route Network (EV) consists of 12 high quality cycling routes linking more than 20 European countries. This ecological network serves as a global symbol for trans-boundary cooperation in nature conservation, sustainable development, as well as a vehicle to enhance touristic offers throughout Europe. The EuroVelo has agreed to include the Iron Curtain Trail as the 13th cycling route.

The Centre for Development of the East Planning Region and the Bureau for Regional Development organised a meeting on the following topic: "Application forms for project proposals and good practices from the previous Call” on 16.02.2010 in the Hall of the Municipality of Shtip.

After announced advertisement for awarding on contract for public purchases for preparation on “Study for using of potential of Biomass for production of energy in East Planning Region”, several consulting firms called. After the procedures were conducted, the Commission chose the best offer 'EMS Temos' from Skopje.

The Centre for Development of the East planning region, represented by the Manager, Mrs. Dragica Zdraveva, and Ministry for Self-government, represented by Director of the Buraau for regional development, Mr. Dzemail Eljmazi, signed an agreement for implementation of the projects in East Planning Region on December 18, 2009. Funds are provided from the budget of the Republic of Macedonia for 2009 and from the sub-programmes "For Attractive Planning Regions” and “Balanced Regional Development”.

The deadline for submitting Project proposals according to the announced call for promotion of cross-border cooperation between Macedonia and Bulgaria was on 14.12.2009. The Centre worked very intensively on this and as a result, 3 projects were submitted:

”Cross border educational network for children with special needs”, was the project where the Centre was leading partner. Having in mind that this group of children is constantly marginalized and unable to attend regular education, the Centre decided through this project to provide social cohesion and cross-border cooperation through the networking of persons from vulnerable groups from both sides of the border, raising public awareness about the rights of discriminated and marginalized children within the wider social community and their integration at the same time.

There were planning workshops held in the municipalities Cheshinovo-Obleshevo and Zrnovci on 11.12.2009 as part of the process of elaboration of Strategies for Local Economic development for both municipalities. These are the only two municipalities from all eleven in the region, which do not have this strategic planning document. This activity was coordinated and supported by the Centre for  development of the East planning region.
