The construction activities for reconstruction of the municipal building in the municipality of Kocani are under way within the "Green buildings for common green future" - GREEN 038 project. The GREEN project is financed by the IPA cross-border program between Macedonia and Bulgaria 2014-2020 and is implemented by the Center for development of the East planning region in cooperation with the Regional Administration Blagoevgrad.

The Center for development of the East planning region as implementer of the "Project for improvement of the hospital environment of the PHI Clinical Hospital Stip through the procurement of ambulances", from the grant of the Japanese Embassy, ​​provided two ambulances for the PHI Clinical Hospital Stip. The purchase of two ambulances FIAT NEW DOBLO 1.3 Multijet Amb. will enable renewal of the fleet of the clinic with appropriate medical equipment. Thus, the whole process of patient transport and care will be at a higher level. With the help of new vehicles, the safety and comfort of the patients from the East Planning Region will increase, especially when transporting to clinics in Skopje, but also to specialized clinics in Ohrid, Bitola and Prilep.

On the 26.12.2017 in the municipality of Vinica, the third session of the Council for development of the East planning region was held.

At the meeting, the Financial Plan of the Center for Development of the East Planning Region for 2018 was adopted and the Annual Action Plan for 2018 was adopted for the implementation of the Programme for Development of the East Planning Region 2015-2019.

The Center for Development of the East Planning Region on December 13, 2017 (Wednesday) in Hotel "IZGREV" in the Municipality of Stip organized a one-day workshop on "Strengthening the capacities and the significance of the regional development - establishing the coordination between the LED departments in the municipalities of East Planning Region and CDEPR ".

On 21.11.2017 in the municipality of Shtip, the constitutive session of the Council for development of the East planning region was held.

In accordance with the provisions of the Law on Balanced Regional Development, the Constituent Session was convened by the Mayor of the Municipality of Stip, Mr. Blagoj Bocvarski, as the Mayor of the largest, by number of inhabitants, a municipality in the region.

Mr. Nikolco Ilijev, Mayor of the Municipality of Kocani, was elected unanimously for the Chairman of the Council for Development of the East Planning Region.

Between November 20-22^nd 2017, the Centre for development of the East planning region within the “Green building for common green future - GREEN” project CB006.1.11.038, financed by the First call of the Interreg – IPA cross-border program Bulgaria-Macedonia, organized a promo “Climate changes” campaign for primary school students of the Stip, Berovo and Kochani municipalities. The campaign targeted 5^th grade students to motivate them in energy and water conservation, less use of plastic, environmental protection, waste recycling, increasing climate changes awareness, with focus on the effects. The students gained knowledge and skills in combating climate changes through games and entertainment activities.

The Fund for Innovation and Technological Development together with the Center for Development of the East Planning Region, the Municipality of Stip and the Regional Chamber of Commerce, organized an info session on the Public Call for Financing Projects for Reduction of Air Pollution in the Urban Areas in the Republic of Macedonia - O2 CHALLENGE : //www.fitr.mk/O2predizvik/)

The information session was held on 21.11.2017 (Tuesday) at 13:00, in the closed part of the Council Hall in the Municipality of Stip.

The project "Innovative solutions for better access to services at the local level" is being implemented by the UNDP and the Ministry of Local Self-Government, within which the mapping of the potentials for tourism development within the East Planning Region is carried out.

On October 27th, 2017 (Thursday), in the hotel "Izgrev" in Stip, the Center for Development of the East Planning Region organized a second workshop for preparation of a Register of potentials for rural tourism development in the EPR.

On September 6, 2017 at Hotel Aleksandar Palace in Skopje a Conference on "Policies for Balanced Regional Development" was held, which is the closing event of the project "Alliance for Regional Development", implemented by Forum - Center for Strategic Research and Development, Skopje and Youth Initiatives for dialogue and cooperation, Bitola.
