The construction of multifunctional culture center was started

On May 16, 2014 (Friday) in the Municipality of Vinica officially started construction activities for reconstruction and conversion of the old "Turkish bath", in important multifunctional culural center. Mayor of Vinica municipality, Mr. Emil Donchev and Head of the Centre for Development of East Planning Region, Mrs. Dragica Zdraveva jointly inaugurated the begining of first construction activities, for which construction company DPTGU "Lady-2" LLC Vinica is engaged .

Signed Contract - Conversion and reconstruction of "Turska banјa" in the Municipality of Vinica

Centre for Development of Eastern Region on May 9, 2014 (Friday) signed Contract with DPTGU DAMA - 2 Doo Vinica for reconstruction and conversion of existing building “Turski banji”, in an important cultural center.  In the basement of the building is planned gallery for organizing exhibitions and exhibits of Vinica Kale with video surveillance equipment at the archaeological site “Vinica Kale”.

Second meeting of the joint working group

On April 23, 2014, in Skopje, the second meeting of Joint Working Group (ZRG) for cross-border cooperation between Bulgaria-Macedonia 2014-2020 was held.

The main topic of the meeting was the presentation of the program strategy and review and approval of the thematic priorities.

Presentation of "The draft regional plans for waste management in the East and Northeast region"

On the 10th and 11th of April 2014 in Skopje , at Hotel Arka day workshop was held to present "draft regional plans for waste management in the East and Northeast region ."

This workshop is part of the project:
Development of the regional plans for waste management and strategic environmental assessment for the eastern and northeastern region “(Europe Aid/130400/D/SER/MK). The project is implemented by Consortium comprised of ENVIROPLAN SA from Greece (leader) and C & E Consulting und Engineering GmbH (partner) - BT Engineering Ltd from the republic of Bulgaria (partner).

Meeting between the World Bank, the EU Delegation and the mayors of IPR

The meeting was held in the Municipality of Kocani on 9 of April 2014 and it was organized by the World Bank and supported by the Centre for Development of the Eastern Region. The meeting was opened by the Mayor of the Municipality of Kocani, Mr. Ratko Dimitrovski who welcomed the idea of involving of the users (beneficiaries) in the process and the distribution of funds envisaged.

The representative of the World Bank briefly present the project for rural infrastructure and initial ideas for implementation according to the existing procedure for implementing such projects PMU. In his presentation he noted that the Government of the Republic of Macedonia decided to transfer the funds from the IPARD program for 2013 for supporting the development of rural infrastructure. Budget that is available for this purpose is a total of 20,667 million euros of which 15.5 million IPA funds, while the remaining 5167 are co-financed by the national budget. The project has duration of 4 years and the projected funding’s of 100% grant for municipalities.

Funds will be awarded through the PMU, with the opening of a special program for development of rural infrastructure. Part of the criteria in relation to the implementation of this program is already established, and that is suitable for applications or end users in rural communities (58) and rural settlements within the urban communities (19), with priority to projects in rural areas. It was stressed that the purpose of the program is to fund infrastructure projects in the areas of: sewer , wastewater treatment , roads , water supply , municipal buildings , infrastructure related to tourism , infrastructure for the development of agriculture , etc. ( making urban plan is not acceptable ). The meeting was with the purpose to get feedback from the municipalities in terms of three very important questions such as: (1) Acceptable projects, (2) the selection criteria and (3) The process for submitting applications. In terms of the selection criteria as basic criteria was existing criteria of the National program for Rural Development. 

It was said that in the process of applying, municipalities will be invited to submit their priority projects with an original design and formulation of specific needs for technical support. So, in this preparatory phase for utilizing this fund, the feedback from municipalities is very important to develop a model that will fully meet the needs of municipalities in terms of rural development.

Signed contract for preparation of project documentation for Sports recreation center "Bregalnica" Stip

On December the 3th 2014, the Centre for Development of Eastern mountains Region began with implementation of the project: 

"Grant scheme for support of the East region", a project funded by GIZ RED Program for regional economic development in Macedonia. Within this system of grants two projects will be funded: 

Project A: Sports and Recreation Center "Bregalnica" Stip 
Project B: Building a nursing home in Kocani.

On April the 8th 2014, the Centre for Development of East region signed an agreement for developing technical documentation for the Regional sports and recreation center "Bregalnica" Stip. The company that will work on the design of future regional sports and recreation center "Bregalnica" is the Company for construction, architecture, engineering and design STUDIO ATRIUM LLC Stip.

The total value of the Contract with PDV, including all costs and discounts accounted is 1,296,289.00 denars and Development Center East region provide them from the "system of grants assigned by success of the operations for the period 2013-2014 " from GIZ RED program of regional economic development in the Republic of Macedonia.

Basic project was planned to include/to project: party entry, large park area, aqua park, playground, tennis court, attractive village on water, catering complex with associated buildings and attractive landscaping along the river Bregalnitsa in length of about 2 (two) kilometers, which will cover the river side from the settlement "8th of November" to the neighborhood "New Village" in municipality of Stip.
